Remember how Burma Island used to be a tribute to the fallen now an uncared for mess
The swans are having a good time eating the new plants as they come through on the edge of the lake. I can see one getting caught up in the netting before long

Burma Island has had a face lift this week with bushes trimmed etc but no structural improvements even though the council said it would be restored 18 months ago. Take a look below how it used to look before they messed it up with the restoration. As part of the design it block your view of the lake so you had to go round to see the rest creating a new vista
A puzzle of the park before it was restored
The Heron has been on duty this week coming for his fish dinner. The cygnets are now down to 2 on the lake its not known if they have flown away or something else has happened. The local councillor reported that one was found down Wisaston Rd injured and now with the RSCPA which if it lives wont be able to return to the park
The island were they put the boats at night is suffering damage from the boats smashing into the stone work with a lot of the top slabs destroyed by the boats. So this will be another restoration of restoration.
More babies in the park this time Canada Geese there is now a lot of ducks and geese with babies.
Every day this week the Herron has popped in for his dinner he doesn't know its closed season for fishing until June
members of the parks wildlife group are keeping a close eye on the swans and babies. A witness saw a man on a bike with a grey hound type of dog off the lead attack the signets this week luckily they were close to mum and water and escaped but the dog followed them into the water. Being in the water the swan was able to defend her young. Last year the baby swans disappeared in mysterious circumstances so we are trying to keep watch over them this year. If anyone sees any thing happening to a swan call the Police straight away
The plaque on the clock tower has now been renovated
A few new baby ducks one mother with 9 babies one of which is this yellow little fellow. A lot of the duck are late with babies this year
Some more before and after which is the best? In this case the path from the cafe to the bandstand which used to be a big hill great for kids but not so good if you struggle walking. Today we have a £250,000 bridge which is very high and kids keep climbing on it. Who remembers the old bandstand with glass around it?
As nothing is happening in the park I thought we would have some more and after pictures. Last week we looked at Coronation Walk from north to south this week the other way around looking towards the main road above as it was note the greenhouses in the background. We dont want any of these images copied onto the Face Book Group that has pirated over 30 of my other images and FB has had to remove them 3 times
As it is today a fine selection of weeds and a none working water fall
The original layout of the Queens Park
The bowling Hut as it was and the much talked about £500,000 new hut which people are complaining about as now you cant play bowls anymore originally you could hire woods very cheap to encourage new users but now its members only and people are saying its a lot of money for a few members
The lodge porch roof had to be repaired this week after the original contractor went bust and the tiles started falling off as they had stuck them on instead of nailing them on nailing them. The wood has been made for the damaged bridge so that should be repaired in the near future.
